It covers the current fiscal-year code set with instructional notes, 7th character rules, the alphabetic index, GEMs and FY change lists, plus code set checks and AI coding assistants. ICD Code Finder is an ICD-10-CM code lookup and coding workspace built for people who code for a living: professional coders, clinical documentation integrity (CDI) specialists, billing and revenue cycle teams, and the students training to join them.

## What it does

- **Search and browse** the current fiscal-year ICD-10-CM code set by code or term, through chapters and blocks, or through the alphabetic index.
- **Read every instructional note in context**: Excludes1, Excludes2, Code first, Use additional code, Code also and Includes notes, including notes inherited from parent codes.
- **Build valid codes** with 7th character tables and placeholder rules on every applicable code.
- **Track change** with new, revised and deleted codes for each fiscal year, and GEMs crosswalks between ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM.
- **Check code sets** for invalid codes, non-billable headers, missing 7th characters and Excludes1 conflicts.
- **Use AI coding assistants**: Note → Codes, Query Builder, Medical Necessity and Guidelines Chat. Every suggested code is checked against the code set, and every suggestion needs review by a qualified coder.

## Principles

- **The official sources come first.** Codes come from the public CMS and NCHS ICD-10-CM releases. The tool supports professional judgment and the Official Guidelines; it does not replace them.
- **No patient data.** We do not store clinical text, and you should never enter protected health information. The self-serve plans are not covered by a Business Associate Agreement (BAA).
- **Honest AI.** AI output is a suggestion with citations where possible, never an automatic answer.
